Individualized Evaluations

As a licensed clinical psychologist, licensed school psychologist, and board certified behavior analyst, Dr. Lostan is able to provide comprehensive evaluations and diagnostic testing in all areas of suspected psychological, academic, behavioral, socio-emotional, and developmental difficulty. Some common referral reasons include difficulties in school, problematic behavior, or a suspected disability/disorder such as autism, ADHD, or a learning disability. Testing may be used to determine eligibility for special education, to assess giftedness, or to identify a need for accommodations and appropriate treatment.

The specific methods and tests used in the evaluation will vary based on the presenting concerns. Areas that may be assessed include intelligence, academic achievement, behavior, development, or social-emotional functioning. Methods used may include a review of records, parent interview, child interview, teacher interview, developmental history, rating scales, IQ testing, academic achievement testing, personality testing, and/or observation. Once the evaluation is complete, the results are written as a report with recommendations and follow-up consultation as appropriate.
