ABA Therapy
What is ABA?
ABA is a collection of strategies that have been proven to change behavior through repeated, well-designed research studies. In its simplest form, ABA uses positive reinforcement—meaning the addition of a preferred consequence— to teach specific behaviors to a child. Over time, as the behavior is learned, these reinforcers can be removed while more natural forms of reinforcement take its place.
Evidence-Based, Scientifically Validated
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy is the most scientifically-supported, evidence-based treatment for autism spectrum disorder (ASD). When applied in creative and engaging ways, children are compassionately supported to excel to their fullest potential. Breakthrough Learning Group is a proud sponsor of the Association for Science in Autism Treatment, which provides a comprehensive database of resources for helping families make informed choices about their children’s treatment. Individualized, SMARTly Defined & Driven by Data
ABA programming is completely individualized to the needs and strengths of the child—this includes the development of SMART goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound. A baseline measure of the skill is taken at the start, and data are collected regularly to track progress and guide program changes.
