ABA Therapy

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a therapy based on the science of learning and human behavior. It consists of a collection of scientifically validated teaching techniques that are used to teach socially meaningful behaviors. It is appropriate for children with developmental, learning, sensory, language or behavioral difficulties. It has been shown through repeated research studies that consistent ABA can significantly improve a child’s repertoire of functional behaviors and skills and decrease the need for subsequent special services. ABA therapy is most often utilized in the treatment of autism spectrum disorder.

Breakthrough Learning Group offers individualized, child-centered home and community-based ABA therapy services. Our ABA therapy staff are selected based on the following qualities: a passion for teaching, an engaging and enthusiastic energy, compassionate and creative teaching, competence in ABA techniques, and professionalism of practice. A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) supervises and designs program components, while an ABA therapist implements the program with your child. A BCBA or ABA therapist may also provide parent training and support in the most effective techniques for maintaining positive change. We work collaboratively with other service providers (speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychiatrists, school staff, etc.) to support your child comprehensively. Our ABA services are guided by the ethical and practice guidelines outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
